Who is The Cognitive Liberation Front?
The Cognitive Liberation Front was originated by M. Xavier Carrigan as a way to reach out to more individuals from not just in his local region, but throughout his country, and even around the world. Choosing to live life by setting examples, Xavier felt compelled to create a home online where he could both express his thoughts and get an opportunity to hear back from others on a public forum. The CLF always encourages constructive criticism and feedback on what is being discussed and what could be discussed in future blog posts and shows.
Meet Xavier:
Recently celebrating his 40th birthday, Xavier is a well-traveled man who has experienced life from his unique perspective, absorbing the visual and social stimulation from those who are around him. He has been to countries such as: Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and, of course, Canada and Mexico. The time he has spent abroad, and even in the US has helped him through his personal evolution.
As a young man, his late teenage years gave him a limited perspective on how to perceive the rest of the world. His travels wouldn’t begin until much later in life. Born and raised in Bowling Green, Ohio (no massacre, from what he remembers), most of his experience with other was severely limited. It was not until he made his first big move to Las Vegas in 2006 when things really started to change. For the first time, he spent more than just a vacation outside of his comfort zone, and that is when the new man Xavier would eventually become started to emerge.
A late bloomer, Xavier spent a large part of his young adulthood as an entertainer and vocal personality at nightclubs as a disc jokey. His openness to others and his ability to embrace unique and unpopular trends was born during these years. Even though he fell off the train with his collegiate studies in 1998, he found himself returning from Nevada (2007) a changed man. Afterwhich he finished an associate’s and bachelor’s degree by 2009, topping things off with a master’s degree by 2012. His studies in TESOL and Bilingual Education would be the key to seeing things beyond the scope of just the United States.
Xavier’s time spent abroad opened up new doors, new opportunities, and new perceptions. His travels did not limit him to only seeing the tourist side of life; rather, he found himself seeking out the grungier side of things in each country he has ever travelled to. He was sat down with the Prime Minister of Japan, and he has shared meals with minimum wage workers in Saudi Arabia. Xavier has walked through the slums of South Korea, while also spending time in the capital, Seoul, visiting the local temples and shrines. His conversations has been splendid and jovial, while at the same time dealing with debate and animosity from those who feel the disenfranchisement from outsiders.
This culmination of experience brings you the man he is today. He wants to help change the world for the better, and The CLF is just the beginning.
